Hi,

Does anyone know of information on here, or elsewhere, about what it takes to upgrade an FE450 to 570?

Piston or crank change? I read somewhere that the cam is different. What about the ECU map etc? Any advice greatly appreciated.

I'd look at part numbers on the ECU's , clutch springs , crank I'd bet is different. At some point I'm doing the same but in reverse 570 to 450. Told cases are same I hope?

Both, Piston is +5mm, Stroke is +8.6 mm on the 570.
Exhaust header is probably longer on the 570 as a guess, to help with the extra stroke. no idea if one can "make it fit"...

I'd be surprised if you looked up 450 and 570 ECU part numbers and they were the same. Reckon the 450 would have a higher rpm limit to start with.

Try the search button, I reckon this is a question that would get asked a bit.

Cases are the same. I'm right now in the process of fixing my friends 570 with a set of 390 cases. The throttle body and most of the exhaust is the same too, and the bike itself.

What is different is; piston, crank, cylinder, header (as 383hq said, a bit longer to cater for the longer stroke), stiffer clutch springs, head (but I think it's probably fine using a 390/450 head) and ECU map (you can use whatever map and it will run but the rev limiter is higher up so can be a good idea long term to use the 570 map).
Unless I forgot or missed something.

Do like Rainero and check the part numbers and see what is different. I have not done the conversion myself but I know that people have done it and I have had a look at most of the parts myself on both paper and on the bench.

Thanks. I'll continue to search for someone that has done it physically and see what they found! It's easier to buy a 570 I guess....
