Upgrades for year 2000???

Got my year 2000 FC600 in bits at the moment trying to find the source of the oil smoke.
Will probably have to replace the valve stem seals and piston / oil rings as a minimum.
What upgrades are available / advisable for this model (the last year of the 'old' engine)??
I'm not sure if the 'mods' section in the owner's doc covers these older bikes...
Cheers

A very good engine, not so much faults to be found, just overhaul it, change bearings and seals.
check the wear on the cylinder and piston, new rings if nessesary.
Check the crank so its straight, weld it and keep on riding.

Also, carefully check out the rocker arm roller tips and the cam bearings. The rocker arm roller tips were especially troublesome on the 2000 and earlier engines.
