I thought i would post a little first time to this forum.
Just done first 500 kms on the new 570 after a short burst on a 450 -
have swapped my old scott steering damper off the old 520 ktm , and it has made its way to both bergs,
I had been off bikes for 22 years (the old xr 600 rider back in1987) Mate sold me the ktm520 to see if i would like it again, even the 2000 model kato was awsome. but some 10 years old , so updated 9 years to the 450 berg , it was sort of ok , better suspension than the kato ,light to ride , easy to flick about but low on fuel range 120 kms approx 15 k per litre. I rode a mates yammy wr 450 09 model and appreciated that the berg was a good thing.- ordered a 70 racing tank and a new 570 to fit it too. thanks to this berg site helped me be aware that you could get one.
The difference... straight from the box ,added a 14 tooth to the front. rode it for 270 kms on the first day almost killed me (big ride) and decided to make some changes ,a new high genuine seat and fit the 70 degrees tank , the seat helps me when sitting , its softer as i suspected, and easier to get from sitting to standing position- and the tank , really cant feel the weight. but appreciate loosing the 2 liter back pack thanks.
It has crap loads of grunt and does it so easy.
I have had some swap rides during the ride days and just cant wait to get on my bike its a beast, it just does everything right and its better to be lookin at the grunt than to be looking for it, its up to you how long you want your arms to be...dependant on throttle position. amazing the difference with the suspension 09- to 011.
I had a swap ride with the old kato520 owner mate who just bought a 500 k old 390 010 model, it felt slow, i and it had severe lack of knackers, having to rev the crapper out of it to make it go, my mate didnt want to give my 570 back , and he is not getting it again i had to prise it off him wiht a lever.
570 thumbs up for alpine riding for me.
Someone on this site called the berg a family breaker, i can understand that now and cant wait to leave the family and go riding again.
