Unhappy with Australian Pricing

Oks guys, I will buy a berg 390, now or when the 2012 model comes out. However, 'unhappy Jan' about the pricing.
In the USA its $8,999 RRP, now I could understand when the AUS was 64cents in the dollar, but now? ... well what can I say. Sure I understand that its a premium bike, and sure I am at a stage in my life I can afford a bit more for my rides. But surely this is just not right with an average of $14,000 + or - $500 seems to be expected.
Now convert them there $$ into USA currency and KTM (husa moma) appears to be playing less than fair with Aussie riders.. Just my 0.2c worth guys.. but something seems astray!

But and it's a big but, the AUS dollar has not been as strong as this in 20 years, when the new bergs come out, if the price difference is still as great between here and the USA, then we are being gouged. That being said, I fully understand the need for dealers to make margins and pay the bills.. but there is a balance to be made between buyer and seller. And with import restrictions the way they are, then nothing is likely to change.

Oks my pricing observations continue.

The new pricing for the 2012 TE300 is $10,160 (RRP) this is a convertion from GBP and includes the UK hell tax called VAT of 20% So you can add or subtract the 17% to the tax man as you see fit in your calculations and conversions.

So lets say because we are generous, that the same margins apply on the purchase/markup/sale price and add $1000 for shipping per bike, should we expect a bike price point about the $11,000 mark?

I have not added the 10% GST, because the above UK price includes the 20% tax levied from the Gov. Maybe I should reduce the $11,000 by 20% and then add the GST of 10% to reflect an accurate landing/sales cost (in our dreams)

Shall we get gouged by KTM?

Ooops sorry, I left a reference to the old 17% tax in the previous post, sorry, its all 20% now, I think.
