two stroke engine braking

i'm think about getting a 300 two stroke, my only real concern is the lack of engine braking. on many occasions i put the four stroke in 1st gear to allow east descent of a very steep hill, without having to use the brakes to avoid locking the wheels. gearing is 13/50. its something that i really like to be able to do

i would assume that i would just get use to a two stroke, (presumably just have to use more rear brake) but can anyone offer any comment, especially someone that has gone from a four stroke to a two stroke

thanks in advance

Ive gone from a fe 09 450 to an 11 te 300 i forgot about engine braking in 5 mins great bike

I have a Gas Gas EC250 No problems with downhills Just got to get use to them.
I use both front and rear With practice you will get better Just got to make sure you do not lock up the front

My Rekluse doesn't allow engine braking (unless I want it to), so I use the brakes. They're pretty good for that.

Joking aside, the brakes are better than engine braking for descents. Descending in a higher gear and using brakes instead of the engine allows you more control. For example, if it gets a bit syrup per you can roll for a bit to straighten out instead of having the rear locking up.
