Has any one heard of these tubes they are red in colour they are 4mm wall extra heavy duty sensational tubes and a good price they are like road tyres they are so thick

I reckon that I have seen one before, If I am right, it was a Chin Sheng brand, I know they do tyres and stuff, I ahve seen ads for them, but only spotted the HD tube once.

Azza.

Dunno about red, but for 4mm thick tubes that are almost flat proof the B?S ultra HD or the Viper or good. I've yet to mount my Tubeliss but it seems like the ultimate solution.

I had a viper on my 550 on day 1 of the force ride, we threw it in when wal put the MX retread on, the whole valve pulled during the morning ride, I dont know that I feel really good about that brand anymore.

Azza.

Azza, yeah I've heard a rumour that that can happen with the Vipers. I've been using them since not always being able to get the BS Ultras with no problems personally, a few years now, and you're the first that I'm aware of first hand that has had the problem.

BS Ultras then, or Tubeliss in theory. I'll find out when my knee is sorted and I can get back on the bike. Hoping for reconstruction before Chrstmas so should be riding again this time next year then I'll be able to report on the Tubeliss.

I just changed the tubes over to these red ones man they where tough to fit new front tyre went on to have to buy more detergent before my missus spots it missing

We use the Maxxis/chengchin extra HD, 4mm, and they work well, we hardly get any flats and we run with 0.5bar inthe rear and 0.6-0.7bar in the front.

Hi Tomas,
Are those pressures for your SM bikes?

grab some of her windex window cleaner in handy squirt bottle

it lubes good and dries fast so you can go ride quicker

Azza I used to run the MX retreads and loved em! last forever sliding on pea gravel, hook up good seems too good to be true for $80.

with the carcass being second hand, often 4th hand, I had to run 2 monster homemade steel rimlocks to stop them from spinning on the rim. when the bead is all munched from a few retread runs the rimlocks take a while to grab, during this time the valve stem rips out.

the sidewalls are very stiff and their heavy so handling is not so sharp. but as you pointed out earlier im a fussy bugger.

tubes oh yeah I want my 18"tubliss cmon ballards!

Regards
Bushie

To simplify fitting the thick tubes, put them in the tyre carcass first and fit them together as a unit in one go. Start at the valve. Its much simpler, and the tubes are really, really hard to pinch. Not really a good move with standard tubes though, even with some air. You can do this though if you want to fit double tubes, split one and use it as a wrapper for the one that holds the air.

I like to put talcum powder on the tube and inside the tyre too to assist in fitting, but it also means that they can move a bit easier in use against each other. Clean up the bead though, as you want that to stick when assembled.

I finally got around to fitting the BS heavy duty tube on the front. The rear already has one. I usually run 13.5 psi front and rear and feel I can run 13 or even 12.5 without feeling a rock on the rim. I've bent the rim before at 13 psi running regular tubes. I weigh about 200.
I always liked 13 and got a good ride but was also the pressure that rocks were felt.

Did you fit BS HD or Ultra HD, there is a difference, the Ultras are the best there is IMHO? With pressures, another factor that effects rim dings/pinch flats is suspension valving. Get the valving right and the suspension will move rather than forcing the tyre to do all the work. On my new, well new last year, 650 I dinged a rim almost the first ride running 12 psi as per normal. Somewhat annoying!!. Giot the valving sorted, and no more dinged rims.

I didn't check the package whether it was HD or Ultra HD. I do know that it was very thick and was told it was at least 3 mil. As for suspension, I like my setup and am probably less picky then some. I do run various slight clicker adjustments on my bikes though. Front Berg forks are stock on rebound, one softer on compression for those little rocks. My 450 and my CR500 (sold) are stock fork compression, one stiffer rebound for cornering grip. My 500 really acted right with this setup and my heavier weight. Otherwise it seemed to push through the corners. Ive dinged the rim once in the last year on the Berg and also got a few little wobblies. I hammered the ding back in and then trued it back myself on my wheel truing stand.

No, we have 12pc of Enduro bikes at MY Adventure, we all run the same pressure.
The SM bikes have a specific pressure of 1.65Bar cold tires, Goldspeed have that recomendation to all users of their SM tires, front and rear.
Goldspeed have also Tubes for Supermoto, wery thick ones, but i run tubless on our carbon wheels.
On the winterbike that we use on the ice we run 0.5bar rear and i have a "moose" in the front.
The Bib moose from Michelin work wery well.

RE: Re: RE: Re: tubes

Is it true 13 psi= 0.9 bar? The Bib moose has a 13 psi feel they say. I could run less than 13 but at that pressure the tires are getting a little squishy on asphalt for dual sport. I don't do a lot of street, just trail to trail. But when I take off from home on a 20 mile HWY for the dirt I just set them at around 15 and ride the whole deal with it. Usually a 80 mile run.
