Trying to identify a stamp on my engine

Hi folks,

I have a '92 FE-501E I'm about to dig into for the first time. I've managed to push it past 80hrs- almost all high speed supermoto stuff- but it's understandably tired. On the left side of the cylinder head is stamped "TRIX by R.P.M." and "502CC". Aslo there are numbers scribed on the valve head and cylinder head (979 I believe). Are any of the old shcool Husaberg riders familiar with a company that ever used such a stamp? The bike has lived in southern Ca it's whole life as far as I know (I'm 3rd or 4th owner). Any hints or info would be better than where I'm at now. Since the cylinder isn't sleeved, I am also looking for a place familiar with bergs should I need to get a custom piston.
A lead on a whole engine from that era would be interesting too. I'm racing the bike so it would help to have a 2nd engine on the stand waiting.
Thanks everyone,
JT

My first suggestion would be to ask Dale Lineaweaver. He may be familiar with that stamp. Another person to ask is Russ Fletcher. He was involved with Husaberg in the early days, and might have an idea. Contact him at 360-253-7177, or [email protected]. Russ is in Vancouver, WA. He used to provide some very useful services for Husabergs, and may still. I know that Dale Lineaweaver still does, and is well respected on this forum. I bet one of the two, if not both, will recognize the stamp on your head, as well as be able to provide any services you may need.

that is a very early bike. we have i believe two bikes on the site from 1992 and one earlier. ask parsko and also look up some info in the search facility. husadaddy had a very early one and in a long thread we got to the bottom of the age of several bikes!

regards

Taffy
