Hi folks :)
Im looking to purchase a still in bike 06' FE650 engine & want to know the compression.
The owner did it & got 60lbs & is thinking its due to the auto compression release.
How can this be done so I can get a real reading ?

Also if this is a tight engine does 2k US sound fair ? Is not including carb, cdi, exhaust or kick starter jfyi.

Thanks in advance ---Proflow

Good question! I don't know the answer, but maybe there's something in the manuals. Do you see the links in my signature? Those are tons of manuals here on the forum and some more on our google drive. (Links in sig are hard to see on mobile.)

Do a leak-down test and see how it holds, Also a compression test will work as the gauge has a lock off and will climb at each kick. it should build pressure over about 5 kicks and give a reading.

Leak down is the way to go. You really can't get an accurate reading with auto-decomp. I'm all ears for anyone that has a way around it.

Thanks for the replys,

So how do you guys feel about $2000 US for a FE 650 running engine ?
