triple clamp swap

I don't know for sure. However here is something to keep in mind. In 2004 the head angle was pulled in by 1.5 degrees I believe, from 28 to 26.5, from the pre 2004 chassis and I cannot find any info on the offset of the clamps. In the part number on your 2002 clamps the offset number should be the last two digits of the part number on the clamps.

So far all I can find is that in 2004 the offset for the FE's and FS's was 22mm's.

In 2005 the triple clamps for the FS's changed to 16mm offset for the top, and 17mm offset for the bottom, while the FE and FC's stayed at 22mm. The same is true for the 2007 for the FS's

However, in 2007 the triple clamp offset for the FE's changed to 21mm offset on the top, and stayed at 22mm offset on the bottom.

They never published a spare parts manual for the 2008 manual for download.

The triple trees stayed basically the same from 01 to 08 stayed the same as far as how the bearing tension adjusting was done. Except in 2004 they started using the "crown" nut on the top clamp instead of just the large open nut.

Hope this helps,

Dale

Some more info. I have a 2002 rolling frame wich has enduro wheels. I also have a 2008 supermoto bike of wich I only have a rear enduro wheel. My plan was to swap the entire front end (wheel, forks, triple clamp) from the 2002 to the 2008, I'm still away from home for another three weeks and have an enduro trip planned shortly after, therefore I'm trying to get some info, if I have to order bearings or other parts.

Thanks for your response.
