Triple clamp bar mount dimensions 06 Husaberg same as KTM??

I pick up my new 06 Fe450e tomorrow. My bar riser and handguard choice needs to work together. I want the fastway handguard system which mounts to it's own bar center top mount. This system works right on top a KTM standard bar mount system. I have seen it many times on KTMs. If the KTM mount dimensions are the same for 06 husaberg as I hear even the bergs and the KTMs use the same oem triple clamps, then all is good because my bar riser solution will be the scotts dampner under bar mount from protect enduro concepts as they have this for KTMs ( and Huskys too but huskys are different). I have this protect mount on my husky and its very clean provides offset and the height I like.

Our setup does work with the Fastway hand guard top clamp. As long as the top clamp has the stock KTM oem spread. I've sold mounts to people with KTM's that have put Fastway's top clamp right on. Should be the same for the Husabergs.

so is husberg and ktm using the same center bar mounts system or at least the same dimensions? so I can buy a protect mount for a ktm place it on my Husberg triple clamps and use the Fastway top cover mount?

The top handlebar clamps are identical. Husaberg triple clamps look identical to KTM's, but the offset on the Husaberg is 22mm vs. 20 for the KTM. I tried to mount Fastway's UBM and it would not work as the nut on top of the steering stem on the 'Berg is taller. A KTM UBM set up will not work on a Husaberg--needs about another 1/4 inch to clear the steering stem nut.

I ended up going with Fastway's bar clamp with adjustable stabilizer mount for my Scott's. Not UBM, but fit perfect.

ProTec may be able to custom fab something, measure how much clearance you need to clear that nut, and you should be good to go. ProTec's damper post or damper mount would need to be adjustable too, since the triple clamp offset is different between the two bikes.

after my second baby ride I feel the bars are high enough when standing , maybe after I get that tall seat and have more hours then Ill try a rsier thing, maybe just some ktm risers, not sure I need that tall protect mount..after all I didnt even undo the nice black rubber mount to line up the fastway mount yet. the bike is too pretty yet to touch. I will try and mount the system to the stock bar mounts this week. I dont have th Fastway plastic yet anyways only the bars. That stearing nut head does not look in the way. i'll see and report back

I mounted up the 20mm risers and really like them. I prefer a taller bar height anyway, and they fee just about right, along with the taller seat. I had a UBM mount on my KTM and really got used to those tall bars.

Just a note on the seat--it is taller, but the foam is softer too, so I wonder if there is much of a net gain. It does make it easier to scoot up towards the front of the seat, though, because the shape at the front is a bit flatter.

Also, Fastway's bark busters bolted right up and aligned perfectly to their top clamp. The damper mount slides back and forth on top of the top clamp and accommodates all four bar positions. Pretty slick system.

Husaberg's 20mm risers? KTMs' 20 mm risers? from where, How much?

husaberg has some in the force catalog, Dan was swaying me away from those 4 some reason. Yeah Dan said the tall foam is soft, said it like a warning, but come on it has to give some height? that existing seat is soft. Is the Tall seat TOO soft too weird? I'm 6'5" I figure I need that tall seat. I'm so damn broke now. maybe I just better go stock on everything for a while. That damn bank wanting 10% down on my bike loan took all my safety margin I can't spend now unless its meaning full. Those protect under bar mounts are $99. I got it for the husky because it fits , but I want to spend only the Minimum on stuff comming up now, so some 20 MM risers sounds cheaper then a $99 scotts dampner under bar mount thing only to be used as a riser.

i have the tall seat-the one dan had.--i am 6-2 230# put on 02 501fe

alot softer -hightwise--maybe a little bit

put fastway pegs on-on the lower position-.05 in. lower--02-05ktm part.

will let your legs strech a little.

KTM Hardparts risers and Husaberg's Force risers are identical. Got them at my local shop--around 28 dollars for the set.

Also, I believe Guts Racing makes a taller seat foam for the Husaberg. I have used their stuff in the past and it is very good quality.

You'll like th eberg tall seat, while it is softer, it does give you the lift you need. I've been using them for years and the 20 mm is good. Another benefit of the tall seat is that the seat is taller across the top, so when you are standing, you have more bite with your knees. :wink:

bergman501 here--the berg tall seat is 1" taller than my 02 seat. your 06 seat may be different. stock highest point is 5.5" tall seat is 6.5". i do like the tall seat. it is soft,but not to soft. nice on your rear---.

gutsracing might be better.might be higher. just right up the road in shingle springs.

ok thanks all for the info. I'm waiting on the Berg tall seat. Don't taint the blood. No thanks to GutsRacing seats, have one on my husky. I will also go with the Husaberg 20mm risers and the Fastway Handguards with black plastic.

BTW the blue brush guards that come with the bike are heavy duty good stuff too.

I'll post a pic when its all done.
