Trailtech vapour problem

having trouble with the Trailtech vapour fitted on my Berg. The speedo stopped working and I cant find any problem except with the rotor magnet. The sensor mounted on the brake caliper is not sending a pulse to the unit when the magnet passes but when I try waving a large magnet that I have at the sensor I get a pulse. I'm wondering if the magnet is somehow faulty although it does still have some magnetism. Has anyone experienced such a thing?

Magnets do loose their strength over time. Try fitting a new magnet or moving the pickup closer.

If the sensor is screwed in too far - ie too close to the magnet, it wont work either. When I set mine up I had to put a washer where the sensor goes through the caliper. No troubles since.

To test take the sensor out (careful ..they break..theres ceramic inside or something like that) & hold the sensor near the disc / magnet & spin the wheel. Get someont to watch the vapor readings and slightly move the sensor closer & further from the magnet.

That's interesting. I hadn't tought about too close, only too far. Anyhoo; update soon when I get the new magnet.

Quick gripe about trailtech customer service: I tried to order one direct on their website and when I got to checkout it was an $8 part with $83 shipping (fedex) from CA to BC! So I emailed them a screen shot of their checkout page and asked if they could mail it USPS. I got a reply saying "sorry we only ship fedex"????????????
