Gents i have a 2008 FE450, I'm looking at buying the trail tech x 2 husaberg 09/10 kit. are the OEM 09/10 lighting plugs the same as 2008 and is the watts the same??
But I do know that the 09-10 bergs are all DC. The 08 bike uses AC to power the lights. HID lights run on DC.
Your 08 has about 90 watts of AC power and about 25 watts of DC power rectified for battery charging and to run the fan. It's not that hard to convert your whole system to DC, your battery will charge faster, you can run the fan with no worries all day long.
Sparks on this site does an excellent rebuild on the Kokusan ignitions to up the wattage to 120 continuous. Most DC conversions just float the neutral which results in really high voltage that your regulator has to shunt to ground. The Sparks rewind is done correctly and keeps the voltage down to where it should be.
to make it tougher for you, i have the Trailtech xenon headlight and its great, i'd say worth the money, even though its a lot. mine came from the us with a KTM connector, so I had to make the husaberg connector myself. (well my dealer did)
Is that always the case? My bike ('08) has a push/pull switch to the right (throttle side) of the headlight which turns it on/off. I assumed this meant my headlight was running DC, since it works without the bike running.
(I've never seen a switch like that, but it's shown in the manual, so I assume it's stock.)
