Totally Confused !!

I'm told my bike's an FE550 by everyone on this forum & by a KTM dealer.................but Husaberg's 2001 - 2003 Engine Workshop Manual only gives info for the FC550 - no other 550 model is mentioned !!?

Does this mean you're all wrong about the FE550 for this period ?

1st FE550 was produced in 04. If it has the SEM ignition and the Del Orto carb it is an 01-03 FC550.

That makes sense to me - it has the SEM ignition & PHM 40 Dellorto carb.
FC550 it is then !

For what it's worth, I had an 02 FC550. It's not a problem to put a lighting kit on it and make it look like an FE. It will just have the stiffer FC suspension, close ratio gear box and no kickstand. No estart as well, but even that could be installed.
My FC550 is still the fastest 4 stroke dirtbike I have ridden. That's of course when you could start it :cheers:

I have an 06 FC550 with a 06 650FE engine, elect start removed, factory full Ti Akro exhaust and a lighter FC flywheel and ignition, its by far the fastest bike ive ridden. scary.
