On my prior bikes, I have always run a Michelin up front, since this is the business end of the bike, if it aint going the right way, your f**ked. As for the rear Pierelli have been awsome for long life and resisting flats, only picked up a flat when they were ready for replacement. Used Kenda's for a while, because a mate had a good deal with the rep, we would buy about 10 at a time, leave them in the sun to harden. Didn't matter if you trashed them since they didn't cost an arm or leg, and worked well in all conditions. Generally wouldn't get much more than a few 100K's before they were rooted, though Thumpers will tear apart even the best tyre in the right conditions and a right wrist that loves to twist!
