:? I have a 02 501 fe need help how long is the chain ie #of links size of chain and type . thanks

I don't know how many links but get the Regina cam chain as it is much heavier duty and will last 3 times as long as the Iris one

The part number for the 02 501 chain is 200 045-05, it comes from two different manufactures and is 66 links.

I just got a Regina for my 2000 501 from Dan Blum of Motoxotica, part number 200045-02, 78 links. Just tell Dan you want a 'Regina' at least 66 links long and cut it to size when you get it.

Yes, the chain has 66 rollers.

I thought that -02 chains were all Iwis and the old were Renolds?

Is this Regina more rigid than the Iwis, do you know the Regina chain number/name Joe?

Some of the posts here refer to the old chain as Renolds. Nice to know that you can get Regina too.
Still curious about the quality of the -05 D.I.D chain.

The Iris (silver)is visibly thinner than the Regina (grey'y black) one. You should always fit the heaviest duty (thicker) one that will fit.

Hi guys,

Husaberg used 3 different brands of timing chains.
When you visit your dealer just tell him you want a Regina chain.
Regina chains were only made for pre 2001 engines,
so it doesn´t matter if you get a chain for 400/501 with 78 links
or for a 600 with 82 links.
You just have to cut it to 66 links for you 2002 501.
That´s what I can recommend.

FinMoto,

The parts manual indicates 70 links for the 02 650 cam chain.
