throttle to much loose and smooth...

Hi,

Well i came from the previous bergs with carbs and now i bought the fe390 2011, i love the bike but there is this issue with the gas throttle that is toooo much loose...i mean the old ones got a good feeling tight grip when opening gas but this one cause its FI( no springs on intake butterfly maybe??) its so weird cause i cant feel it and it cause me some chills when riding fast and hit some log or rock the gas just opens without control.

any thoughts on put it more stiff?

Maybe aluminium throttle tube from pro taper or similiar. But mine started to get sticky and sounding like there was sand inside the tube. I cleaned everything up and put redline cv-2 grease inside the tube, and it actually made it stiffer but yet still smooth and rolled off quickly without being sticky. It's now alot firmer and controlling it is more precise.

No, stock plastic tube still. Maybe upgrade in the winter for pro taper alu tube.
I have pro taper contour bar so it's direct fit. But it's for me alot better now that it has even slight resistance feel when twisting it.

Ha Ha, Had the same thought the first time I rode my bike, I nearly T boned a mate we were negociating a realy rocky down hill track and I twiched the throttle accidently, scared the poo poo out of me 8O 8O . At the time I also thought about stiffening up the spring, but as johny says you will get used to it.
