throttle cable problem

CRF FCR 41 carb on a 2002 Husa.

Tried fitting the OEM Husa (2004 + cables) to my carb, but there too short. I can only fit one of the two. If I fit both I can only open the throttle halfway due to the fact that there is too much tension.

Is the cable 'housing' on the Honda FCR's different than the FCR's on a Husa or is it something else I'm missing?

Any ideas as how to fix this? Don't wanna spend more money buying new cables. I was thinking of drilling a new hole in the 'disc'?

i have seen them run on hondas with just the one cable and the spring relied on to shut the slide. dont know if there are any performance or reliability issues with doing this
