Threaded hole - near Starter motor

Hi guys,

Im finally putting my berg back together.

Will be more active once its running.

Im refitting the starter motor, looking at the hole where the starter motor goes in - to the left of it there is a threaded hole, that will be covered by the starter motor once its fitted.

Should this have anything in it - if so what? or should it be left as an open hole?

Thanks in advance
Rob.

Its been so long since i took my bike apart ive forgotten where everything goes.

be nice to know what year and model (put it in your signature)

That is for holding a blank off bung in if you are not using an electric starter.

Cheers spanner

Hmmmm....I don't recall that on the older bikes. I would say leave it be. It must be for a cover if you were to remove the e start system.

As it was a blank hole, and no brackets fitted - i ignored it and carried on assembling.

Agreed - it must be for a cover for running without.

Cheers all.

Rob.

as long as it didn't go thru. not a problem. the blanking plug on my '02 650 was a press-in.
