Thread Size, Pitch and Depth of Seat Screw

Hey Guys,

I am not sure what feat of physics allowed me to loose the seat screw for my 08 fe450 but it came off on a ride over the fourth. I called a dealer and they want $36 for a screw with a swivel top. That is a no go for me I will just use a wing screw for it instead. I need to know the thread size pitch and length when i go to buy one. I could find out somehow but I figured I could save a second by just asking you guys.

they are $51 AU here :cry:

I used an M8x1.25 by about 45mm just a thought maybe a wingnut head isn't the best profile to sit on

Bought a bolt and a wingnut. $.43 total and it holds the seat great. The profile does not stick out as much as you think. I will repost a cautionary tale if my bike rapes me!
