Can anyone one help i have had trouble with a Fe 2006 over heating, i have total changed the colling system and know just added a thermo fan, the thermo fan seams to work well, although half hour into a days riding on tite trails the bikes battery runs flat. is there a way you can isolate the fan so it does not run unless the bick is running.

Welcome to the website.

You may have a thermo-sensor that turns the fan on too soon and too often. The earlier fan kits came with an 85C sensor which keeps the fan running way more than necessary and therefore runs the battery down. The solution is a 95-90C 'accessory fan switch' for an '84 BMW 318i, available for less than $20 from your local auto parts store. If the fan still runs for long periods of time after the engine is shut off, you could always install a simple on/off toggle switch in the fan circuit.

A better battery like a shorai is good also, you can also remove the thermostat and gain 30 % more flow....

I had both a FS650E and a Fe650E I did the no thermostat to both

Your problem is that the fan draws more power than your stock regulator/rectifier is delivering to the 12 volt system. The rest of the power is A/C voltage for your lighting. I did a complete re wind to my stator and cut everything over to D/C voltage on my 04 550. Ran all day with the fan on, as well as lights and no problem.

You can help this problem by changing the thermo switch on the radiator to a 100/95, instead of the 85/80C it came with.

can somebody tell where is the heat sensor in fe 650 2007? I've an empty plug just hanging on top of the motor and it seems to be for the radiator fan (according to wiring diagram) but I would like to know which sensor gives it the order to turn the fan on?

some of the old owners has done the electricity installations to the bike with OEM wiring..

On my 08 the sensor is located on the right /bottom of the radiator. If you buy the OEM fan-kit the sensor and fan is allready wired together.

Can someone tell me where you get a fan kit for a 06 FE550e. I have looked all over the internet and cannot find one. Is it the KTM 59035041044?

Thanks
