The big bores are coming back baby!

OK that looks gooooooooood. I hope the motor will be to the 690 what the 570 is to the 530 ...

I have to say, that's the worst attempt at a new design I've ever seen.........

I completely agree, they really don't need this crap

It could definitely be a little more understated. Fluro is a bit much. We're not cyclists! I like my bikes to almost be a surprise every time I hop on. This looks like I already know everything... It's on drugs. The front is horrendous.

This is KTMs attempt at trying to sell more 690 Dukes. They tried changing it up a little more than their
usual blue and white clones. They forgot the front fender too as well like we don't need them anymore in
this modern day and age.
Now we just need a white KTM 701 super enduro.

I think It looks like a pretty sick bike......needs a front fender and the rear number plate looks a little awkward around the exhaust.....I would buy it if was 2 cylinder 900 or something :D

This is obviously a prototype supermoto, I am sure the actual made street/enduro versions will have a front fender

Like pollo says though just looks like a white duke, and probably the same old 690 but called a 701 for marketing, I guess I like the look of dukes though so that would explain why I like it....they have their purpose, obviously wouldn't want to ride it in the woods....sad to see the diversity between the models all turn into ktms underneath......

still a cool looking bike, even if it is just another ktm

Given the duke looks more like a road bike then a motard to me it's also a thumper, I thought the duke was a v twin? I'm all for this thing. I was hoping for them to return some more unique engine sizes and this gives me hope. Sure the stylings a bit funny, but it's a concept so it's ment to be.

Edit: I see what you guys mean, I had only really seen the 1190 duke, hadn't paid any attention to the 690 doh.

+1

My graphic designer friends are going ape over it :)

And I'm willing to wait for specs and ride reports. I'm OK with something new built on the 690 platform - as long as the engineers are inspired enough to want to actually improve upon it, and given free enough rein and resources to do so.

It's a "Meh" for me, for some reasons:

* the 690 weights a ton, nothing compared to the 570 (rode both)
* never liked that big butt of the 690 which remains in this prototype
* as pointed out already, no front fender.. I'd be ok with the FS-style fender, but something more 'MV rivale' like would be nice too
* not enough use of the beautiful blue-yellow-white combination, instead using some hi-viz greenish yellow which is 'ok', but nothing like the Husa colours

Keep working KTM, after the exquisite 1290 super duke R I truly believe you can be one of the most innovative brands out there.
