The $40 FCR Spruce Up

Also, to my suprise, the 550 ended up liking the same jetting and needle that my 450 likes. Somehow, I assumed that the larger displacement motor would like a richer needle or something.

the larger engine needs a smaller jet.

the larger engine needs a smaller jet.

Can you tell me why this is so?

Increased venturi signal.

The larger the bore the stronger the signal.

If the signal is weaker a larger jet would be required to maintain the same fuel flow.

sparks has now removed his FP tube as he had a flat spot a the bottom end. no matter how much we tried to get rid of it it hung around. fitted the std tube back in and all is well. back to the DMS needle on C1 or C2 with a150MJ.

The DMS or CVR/CVS are the best dirt needle and the EKQ will do you on the street however a bespoke needle is still the best as it would simply be a combination of all three. Lineaweavers needle is the nearet but it's rich evn on clip 1 and of course there' nothing left.

Just a quick question, if I order in the CRF diaphargm kit do I only need to install the diaphragm, all the other bits that come with the CRF kit are not required,
Is my thinking correct

I'm thinking that's you will need to install, unless it comes with the O and D rings, then I would install them too.
