I recently purchased a ton of Dellorto jets and needles from "Buzzard" (Ron), who is a fairly new member here (joined 12-30-2005). I believe he sold his 2000 FE501 and purchased an 05 450 therefore had little need for them. In addition to my 05 450 I still have an 01 Fx470e and a 97 Fx600e. I'm going to hang onto these bikes so having a large lot of jets and needles for the old Dellortos is a great find for me.

Just wanted to say thanks for the fast shipping and handling, and to let everyone know of my good experience with Buzz. Should he have anything else to offer up for sale I give him a two thumbs up :D

Also thanks to Json for the classifieds module.

I'd like to echo Husabutt! I bought Ron's 2000 FE501. He is one of the most straight up guys I have ever met, on top of being nice he is a wealth of knowledge. He reminds me that overall bikers are some of the best people you will meet

Hi Stoveguy:

You need to type up a little ride report. The 2000 Fe501 is purported to be one of the coolest Berg's made. The old style motor with the new style frame. Perhaps one of these days you could take some pics of the battery box, subframe, surrounding area and put them in your gallery . I have to wonder if the 2000 subframe and battery box will fit newer models?

Thanks,
Eric

Stove, Got your E-mail, maybe Jones Creek Trail up to Pinkerton Flagstaff will be passable in three weeks or so. Ask your bro and see what he thinks. Hopefully Buzzard can come down and join us.

Eric,
It's not an E start, so no battery box to show you. Buzzard originally bought it to get back into riding after a bad wipeout in a race in Wendover UT some years ago. When I got it from him he was considering the KTM 300EXC looking for smoother power delivery(not so Abrupt off the bottom) he ended up with the 05 FE450 you'll have to ask him about that. My bike before the Hussy is a Yamaha IT 465 bored to approx 500 w/ DG pipe and some porting. If I could get original blue plastic reasonably it would still be my scoot of choice, just love those big bore two strokes. I was shopping for a CR500 to drop some cash in and make trail worthy I was also looking for a KTM 540 or 550 DXC. On a KTM search on ebay this Husaberg pops up in Montrose, CO approx 3 hrs. from my house. Knew of Husaberg from Husqvarna days played the cat and mouse game with some guys bidding on it, the last day my last what I considered to be ridiculously low bid popped up with "reserve met" and I bought the bike. All I can say now isWWWOOOWWWW!!!!! this bike is the best thing I have ever ridden I love the abruptness off the bottom I like to be able to pop the front end up quickly to clear fallen logs etc... I'm not qualified to answer on the old motor on new frame thing, I'm just stoked to own one of these machines I'm a decent mechanic so with all the help here at UHE I don't really need a dealer that close. This bike is making me seriously think about racing again big FUN factor! As winter subsides here in CO and I ride more I'll post more, but needless to say Ihave friends that have dropped $6500.00 plus dollars on CRF450X & WRF450 and they need to spend about 2 grand more each to try to keep up with me on a six year old machine, so to me how can you not afford to buy a Husaberg??

i also want to thank buzzard. he is a new riding buddy/friend. we took a trip to moab and had a ball despite some bike mishaps. ron figured out why my bike has been overheating and fixed it, he also replaced my fork seals for me and helped me do my valves. he truly is a wealth of knowledge, a great mechanic and a great guy. hope to ride with him this weekend. thanx again ron

cheeseburger,

Great to hear your still hitting the trails and got to do Moab. So what was it that was causing your bike to overheat? These are important things that enquiring minds want to know... Hope life is going well for you and your lady, hope to ride with you again.

Regards,

Sandskipper, the overheating was due to a slight imperfection in the radiator, where the caps lower sealing rubber rests, causing the radiator to not build proper pressure. The bike just blew out coolant mixture. I tapped the aluminum back into conformance with a 1/4" drive extension and tap hammer, it now seals. Odd manufacturing defect. That FE550 of Cheesburgers sure rips! Wow, did we have a great Berg weekend at Moab! We will keep folks posted as to when riding in SW Colorado gets good, be glad to have folks visit and ride. Buzzard

Buzzard,

Thanks for the info! This is one of those problems (over heating) that comes up every so often and it is good to have the info to relay to others. Thanks again! I was pleased to hear that cheeseburger was still out and about riding and was able to find a fellow husaberg enthusiast to ride with. Wish I could of joined you both in Moab for some trail riding. With the coming of warm season im sure there will be plenty of great riding for you both up there in Colorado. Take care and see you on the trails sometime.

Regards,
