Anybody going down to Texas for the 1st round? I'm thinking about trying the nationals this year, with the exception of the California rounds I think I can do the rest, would like to see some more Bergites there.

I may do it, although my presence in enduros is more for comic relief than anything else. I entered 4 TSCEC events last year, and will probably do about the same number this year.

I'll update here if I go.

I haven't ridden at Barnwell Mountain, so I can't speak first hand. However, lots of my regular riding buddies have ridden there a fair bit, so I can say that there's plenty of tight trails through the woods, lots of rocks, plenty of nasty uphills and downhills on loose rocks, and if it's been raining, plenty of mud. In other words, it has just about everything except desert. In any event, do not expect much flat, wide open riding. Many people assume that about Texas, and you can find lots of that land, but not on the enduro circuit.

I mostly like the West Texas events, because I prefer dry and rocky to muddy and trees.

I forgot to add that one of the primary race organizers has suggested intermediate to hard terrain tires, as the rocks are primarily what you'll be fighting. He also said that while the trail will be exceedingly tight "here and there," that riders needn't worry about cutting their bars way down. The tire recommendation is clear. The bar length part leaves room for interpretation.

I'm still running stock bars and have been considering taking off a total of 1 to 2 inches total...I may go ahead and do, as I typically ride tight trees anyway.

Texas is out for me, but NJ and Michigan are already on my calendar. Whether I ride my WR125 or FE450 in NJ is another question.

If promoters out there are like the ones here, you can't believe a word they say! It could be raining cats and dogs for a week, standing knee deep in the riders meeting and they will say,"rain makes it better here". :D But the tire information I will take, and I'm old school, my bars are 30" all the time. I rode NJ this year and the last section was as tight as I have seen in a long time, good stuff!!
