TE300 won’t fire

Hello friends. I just purchased my first berg a 2012 te300. Was sitting for a year or so and I only heard it run roughly for about 10 seconds before it shut down and I took it anyway. Given it had been sitting I thought a quick clean of the carby would sort it out. I was wrong :(
The perplexing thing is I have spark ( stator was a bit rusty so cleaned up and giving good blue spark now - gap 0.6)
I have fuel because the plug is dripping wet after a few kicks. So much so I had to empty about a glass full of fuel out of the expansion pipe after a day of kicking with no result. The only thing I did was clean everything when I got the bike home, before I raised a spanner to it, because it was filthy and I did lay it over on it side whilst pressure cleaning underneath, not sure if that may have caused an issue? There is no obstruction in the airbox and the silencer is clear. I always loved two strokes for their simplicity but this has got me baffled. I’m leaning towards the carby delivering too much fuel and it is unable to start? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciate.
cheers

Update
definitely too much fuel. I tipped the bike over to drain the bowl and with fuel tap off I kicked with wide open throttle and she fired right up. Now just need to figure which part of the carby I need to fiddle with. Already had all jets and choke out to clean everythin. I’m guess maybe float level is out?

Float valve is leaking, filled crank case with fuel. Take out plug, hold kill switch while kicking over with rag over plug hole and plug cap out of way, to clear fuel out of cases. Clean float valve seat- where float valve sits- CAREFULLY with rag around small phillips driver, make sure rubber end on float valve is not damaged, may have to replace as a set, but usually you can recover. Try warming up the rubber with hair dryer- carefully- and spin in a clean soft rag. Float should sit roughly level with carb base when the valve JUST touches the pin on the valve- hold carb with float pivot up, turn carb until tag on floats touches. Usually they don't need adjusting unless previous fiddling. Thottle body cleaner is the biz for PROPER cleaning, or soak in hot water and vinegar. Good luck!!!

You are spot on! I did all those things today before checking back here and now starts first kick but won’t run. Thanks heaps because I did not know about the crank case filling with juice but makes perfect sense. So plug out and more kicking in the morning. I stopped tonight at 9pm thinking if I get this right and she fires up proper the neighbours won’t be too happy, will have to be 7am tomorrow haha. I got the bike 4 days ago and haven’t ridden it yet, very much looking forward to seeing what she’s got :)

Well I got it idling now but just bogs and dies if I try to give any throttle. Does that sound like my needle valve is buggered? Cleaned it and the seat a few times now and it appears ok but not sure.

So if it idles, but won't take throttle, it's either not getting enough fuel, maybe blocked fuel tap, or needle jet is blocked- the tube above the main jet that the needle goes into- it is fed air from the bell mouth, the holes in it emulsify fuel and are important for pick up from idle. Blow through with carb cleaner from bell mouth holes and main jet. Maybe try soaking whole carb in vinegar and hot water for a day. Also does it get better after it warms up? Mine was quite cold blooded with the small pilot jet (35 from memory) that worked best- needed minutes pulling choke on and off to warm up, particularly on a cold day

I ended up pulling the carb down again and put all the jets and float needle in my ultrasonic cleaner for about half an hour in parts cleaner. Also i suspected the seat area for the float valve wasn’t as clean as it should be so I put a cotton bud into my drill and used parts cleaner to kind of buff it up as best I could. Blew the living crap out of everything with compressed air, reassembled with new hose kit and bingo. Sounds great but yet to take a quick spin because weather has been crappy. I suspect I might need to do some fine tuning but sounds quite crisp on the stand. Thanks for all your help, love these forums.
