TE 300 break down

hello folks

i've bought a TE 300 in februari, at first it had some troubles starting and it wouldnt keep running without the choke

i turned the bike in with the dealer, they searched and tried everything for more then a week to come to the conclusion that it was just a channel in the carburator that was filled with grease :?

when i went there to see what they were doing i think they were really mistreating the bike : cold engine wich has not been run in and they were giving quit some gas to try and keep it running :?

but eventually everything got solved, and i rode the bike in with care

i did about 7h of amature enduro, hardly using the power of my beast, but yesterday i went for a MX training and in the 5th round the power went down and then a dry snap and it was finished :?

the kickstarter wasnt stuck but i didnt dared to trie and start it

when i took the sparkplug out it was all white and my piston had slammed into it, the litle pin of the sparplug was pushed into the sparkplug, i should think that it didnt get enough oil, but i held to the prescripted 1:60, using denicol syn100 (wich according to my dealer is the best oil and allows even a 1/70 mixture)

the air filter was clean and installed correctly so i don't know what could have gone wrong

i turned the bike in with the dealer were i've bought it but i have serious doubts about their mechanics capabilities, i've heard nothing but bad comments about their mechanics, and the problem with my carburetor says it all i think, clearing all the carburetor channels of a bike that doesnt run well should be the first a mechanic should do :cuss:
i even told them that everyone thinks i'm crazy for still going there, but they didn't seem to care, they have a nice shop and they sell alot of bikes, so why worry about some mechanical problems

a mechanic from the mx-club told me that probably the bearrings of the cranckshaft are waisted and that the whole engine has to bee taken apart :?:

if this is the case, is there a possibility i could contact husaberg and ask them if they give me all the parts i need (the bike is still in waranty) but that i let all the work be done by a mechanic who knows his work :?: the mechanic of my current dealer is a young boy (no offence), and he even told me that he hates working on bikes that are broken 8O i'm afraid that if i let them fix it, i will have a breakdown in a couple of weeks/month, and then it will be all on me :?

i'm really pissed that this should happen to me, this is the second husa i've bought new, and its the second where i've had problems with when it was brand new, when i went back with the te300 the first time the boss told me that they had some doubts about the TE since it wasnt running smoothly, but he thought it would turn out good..... 2 years ago they allready sold me a FS570 with some major child deases, and now he deliveres a bike to me when he had doubts about it ??

i'm now thinking about getting the bike from my dealer and bring it to another one, but they don't seem to be jumpy to take it :?

i must say though, that both the fs570 as the TE300 are magnificant bikes, (when they dont breakdown) i love to ride both of them, i just hope that husaberg will show a gesture now, since i've been a big defender of this brand.

does anyone know where i can find contact information of the belgian importer ? when i check the official husa site they send you to a dealer with your questions..

Brouwers are in Holland why not simply ask them. they will know. you deserve a free rebuild but whether you get it or not is another thing!

thnx for the reply, i've just send them an email

i have to get a free rebuild, that's the law here in belgium  i would just rather do the rebuild with a mechanic i can trust

i mean, the bike is well maintained, i had only +-300 km, i think that the dealer has made a mistake when they were trying to find the carburetor-problem, and that they changed something in my settings

come on, i've been riding motocross with the same 125 two-stroke for more then 5 years, always maintained as prescribed and i've never had a single issue, now when i do the same with a bike that should be much stronger and powerfull it breaks down in no time :?

i've been looking for a fault from my side, but i can't come up with a single reason what i've could've done wrong :? it's not that i was racing it like an inter: full trothle in all gears :? i dont think i've even used all of the TE300's power for more then 2 seconds :?

i will put my foot down for a free rebuild, i just hope i can arange the rebuild to be done by a good mechanic instead of those mechanics from the dealer where 've bought the bike

(by the way, last year the boss told me that he had trouble finding decent mechanics, but he assured me that he had found one, now more then a year later i still haven seen a decent mechanic there, i've never had a good explenation about the mechanics)

i talked to another dealer yesterday, he told me that something went wrong with the carburation settings, since i've never touched the carb (only my dealer has worked on it) it seems obvious that my dealer has made a mistake :?

tomorrow i'll go talk with my dealer and ask them what they will and can do for me, the other dealer saids its very unlukely that they will give me parts..

you need to look at it from the view of consumer law or indeed simply 'the law' it's not what people say that matters but the law.

i've just got word from my dealer : my piston was blown to pieces :?

they think it's due to a factory error, that the piston was poorly made

anyway, i've talked to the boss and he guaranteed me that he will take care of it and that all will be fixed

so for now i'm happy

i've got the bike back last saturday, i rode it in smoothly and i heard a strange sound at mid-revs

sunday i went for an mx-ride and i crashed really hard.... because my throttle wouldnt close  wont be riding for a couple of weeks

yesterday i let my friend ( who rides the ktm 300) test my bike, when he starts it the bike starts going into high revs, i immediatly checked if the choke was off (wich it was) , he also heard the strange sound in mid-rpm, wich his ktm hasn't :?

but then my friend also crashed, when he was riding very calm the bike start going into high rpm, when he pulls the clutch the rpm's are so high that i thought it was going to blow up :? the killswitch didn't work at that time (wich is the most important time to have a working killswitch :? ) the only thing he could do was jump off and let the bike go, the bike jumped about 2 meters in the air and when it was much lower in rpm the killswitch finally worked :?

i have this bike for 2 months and its the 3th time i have to go back to the dealer with a serious issue :?

i'm sure that the dealer "hasn't made a mistake" it's always a freak accident, never their fault :cuss: while everyone else is telling me to look for another dealer because this dealer is incompetent

i've bought the TE300 because i thought it was a reliable and strong engine, but i have only had 2 good days on the husa, al the other times i was riding it in or having problems with something

i've been a great fan and supporter of husaberg, but now my patience is being tested

it turned out that the dealer forgot to thighten the bolt of my throttle :?

the engine still makes a weird sound at mid-revs, my friend thinks it is ressonating :?: and also when i gear-up it makes a noise that it didnt make before :?

anyway, i told the dealer to look into this noize but he claims there is nothing wrong with the bike

so i will take it apart myself and let it be assembled by a decent mecanic, so i can finally ride without any worries

that husa/ktm dealer has seen the last of me

That's very disappointing to hear. Hopefully you get it all sorted out and start enjoying your bike.
