can anyone give a solution to a problem with those bloody silly screw in the tank gaurds , owner before me has over done three and i dont want to put longer ones in as i will punture tank .
any good ideas have to replace all of them to get rid of them all together

Fill it with some epoxy, and use teflon tape on the screws. Turn them in to the correct depth without the shrouds. Let it sit overnight.

I had two of them cross threaded. I was able remove one of them and then retap the hole.

However, the other is jammed and the whole insert spins so I can't remove the screw or the shroud. Any ideas on how to get that one out?

I believe I have one that's crossed up too. When I put it back together last time I could NOT find the right thread line...I lubed the screw and went slow but I'm pretty sure I'll spin that insert eventually. Guess I'll find out tomorrow when I install the new 70 degree tank...like the epoxy idea, Idle, but with teflon won't the threads be loose or do you then always use the teflon?
