Tall Seat?

How much taller is the tall Husaberg seat?
Is it the same or harder or softr?
Can you buy a stock blue cover for the 05 models and make it fit?
Thanks,

I'd say it is at least an inch taller right near the front, maybe a bit more. It does not have as severe a dip in it as the stock seat does. This makes it really easy to move forward on the seat, as well as giving you some more leg room.

As far as soft/hard, mine was softer than stock--too soft really. I sat on one of the other guy's tall seats at Moab, and his was about the same firmness as stock. It was a Husaberg factory seat as well. So, I don't know if they switched foam vendors or what, but his was much better than mine.

I have since switched to a Gut's Racing tall firm foam. It is perfect. I did re-use the black tall cover from the factory tall seat. I doubt the factory blue cover will go--mine is trimmed pretty close.

I'd go with a Guts foam. They do seat covers too. Call them up and see if they can do a gripper cover in blue, if that is what you want. I think the black looks better anyway.

When going to an aftermarket tall seat and cover, is there an elegant way to accomodate the seat screw?

The aftermarket foams have the relief molded in for the seat bolt, just like stock, so when you cover the seat, it looks identical.

When I install a new cover, I glue the area around the screw with contact cement, then use a clamp to make sure it is secured properly.

The blue 2005 and the blue/yellow 2004 seat covers will both fit over the tall Guts foam, it just takes a little working with them, I have got them on my bikes.

damn you sacberg i read this thread and was about to report the same!!!!

a tall foam will fit under the original seat cover. just get the hair dryer going and you'll be fine.
