Tall Seat

Trolling thru all the info about taller seat options for my 2011 FE570.......how much taller is the factory seat compared to the standard one...and is it much firmer....???? I find the standard one to be a little on the 'plush' side.

Is an aftermarket one a better option...????? Ideas Please.... :D :D :D :D

I bought a Guts Racing medium density tall seat. I asked them to pick one of their 'softer' medium foams. It was much more comfortable than the stock seat, but it ended up being too tall for me. I was dropping my bike too much because I couldn't reach the ground on side hills. So I switched to a Guts medium density standard height seat. I am pretty sure it is softer than stock, but not so soft you sink into the pan.

If you are interested I have a used Guts tall medium density foam seat I will sell for a reasonable price. I do not have a seat cover for it. I switched to a Seat Concepts seat. Send me a PM if interested.

My new to me FX 450 came with a tall soft seat. Not comfortable enough for dual sport at all. Replaced it with the Seat Concepts cover and foam, way, way better. They have a tall option. Call them and discuss your needs, they are friendly and helpful.

When I bought my Seat Concepts seat a few months ago for my 09 FE450 they did not have a tall seat. They had a low seat and a standard height seat. If they had a tall version I would have bought it. I bought the standard height. Very comfortable seat. I still wish it were a little bit taller. I am going to get a Seat Concepts seat for my BMW Dakar.
