Tail Light Install.

So, I have been slowly gathering parts for my 2009 FE570 to make it trail legal here in Alberta, Canada. Now I am an amateur when it comes to working on bikes and the like, so bear with me. I spent today digging down through the rat's nest of assorted wires, plastic and other things jammed under the seat to look for the wire needed to plug in my new tail light that is supposed to be under the battery. Thanks to this site for pointing me in that direction. It was quite a battle to get under there, but as advertised, there was the required plug!

Now this plug has two connectors on it, only one fits on my shiny new tail light so that is one I plugged in. Then came the battle to get the rat's nest back into place was even worse.... then the tail light didn't come on. At this point, I ran outta time and couldn't troubleshoot the light, but my hope is that the tail light doesn't come on unless switched on with the headlight. Is that true?? What is the second connector for? Was I s’posed to plug that in somewhere too? Oh yeah, that tail light wire could use some stretching!

The headlight bits and pieces have not arrived yet, so I have to wait to test that theory.

It works! Added the switch yesterday and clicked on the headlight switch and the lights came on. Now just have to wait for the last of my headlight parts to arrive and I am trail legal! New bark busters coming too, as the Nekan ones do not fit my new Renthal twin wall bars.
