I dont know if i'm correct but at some time trawling through these pages i'm thinking i heard you (or possibly anyone haha) mention a place called toms farm or something like that? You could take your bike and ride there apparently, as i'm no expert rider and have no wish to venture onto a mx track and expose myself as the clumsy oaf i am and obviously fast running out of places to ride in the uk i think this place could be of interest... can you or anyone else enlighten me please?

Regards
Mark

toms farms is at cmwderu near st harmon in mid-wales.
last time i checked it was £7.50 a day to ride there.
it is basically a hill farm that has been turned over to off-rd vehicles - bikes, buggys, 4x4's- since the owner was banned from keeping animals.

i only live about half an hour away and will say straight away that i don't like the place. it is ridden out, you can ride in any direction so the chances of meeting someone on a brow are great. plus the fact it's a favouriite place for stolen bikes to be used as people come from all over the country and sometimes taking someone elses bike home with them as well.

the last bit about the stolen bikes i know 110% personally and is not just rumour.

the only good thing i will say is tommy breeze himself is a friendly chap.

hhhmmm the places i ride at present sound similar but are on common land and pit stacks etc, where it isnt legal to ride and in the current climate aginst bikes you are in danger of getting your bike taken off you by the police and crushed. Toms farm may be dangerous in some ways but at least its legal to ride there, thats what sounds apealing, and i never leave my bikes unattended so i'm not really worried about theft. Can you take the kids there on their bikes do you know?

you can take what ever and who ever you like there as there is no regulation at all.
just be aware that it is rather remote and last time i was at the farm there was no phone coverage over most of it, though this may have changed.

ok daddy it seems we r suffering the same problem:
you me and thousands like us.

not sure were u live but i know the wrong side off the pennines :bounce3:
has more mx practice trax than gods country ( lancs ).
try checking out the tmx.news.
if the track is run well it is split up into rider ability groups so u dont feel out of your depth.
that said some people dont like the ride/race set up but u will get better at riding at these sort of places
hope this helps

Yeah i'm in yorkshire l plates, and i dont really like the ride/race setup as i have two sons 9 and 12 who have bikes and we just like to have a family day out pooting about together, the problem with tracks as you say is that you get split up.
