I've signed a deal with a company to help promote my Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter pages. I don't subscribe to Twitter and I don't rate Linkedin much but that's where we are....

I intend putting up short videos there of how to fit stuff and realising info there as well as here.

so please keep an eye on it.....

Put the videos up on You Tube also, that way those that don't play on facebook will be notified whenever a new video is posted.

I second the youtube suggestion, facebook has a tendency to limit the number of posts showing on people's feed unless you pay them, from my limited knowledge. If you have a subscriber on youtube however they will get notified of any new videos. I for one would appreciate the vids, considering my never ending FS650 rebuild ;)

we would like to see a following on Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin. maybe later with the videos on you tube. there are a lot of trolls on here and youtube and it is nice to have a day off now and again!

just put up another video on Facebook. we DESCRIBE all the things you have to do to get your 1999-2003 Husey starting on the button.

https://www.facebook.com/taffmeisters/timeline

last week we had a lovely FE400e in that started on the button instantly.

I really wish I'd done one on a regular customer of mine named 'Phil' who always gets his parts here. Phil had been having a flat spot but it turned out he had been "paddock stand testing" = not a good idea!

so over three hours we made sure the carb was clean and correct, then we set the tappets, then we started it but it was difficult. we checked the ignition timing and that was 'good' and so we were a little mystified.

I noticed then that we hadn't had one backfire or hizzyfit when we kicked it. I then kind of thought that maybe that the 6d BTDC we could see was really only 3d. so we doubled the 6 to 12 as we saw it and it would appear that that was the 6d we needed.

we then altered the PS in and out and then went for a different PJ. with the new PJ in it started immediately. the customer has called in to say that it now goes like a rocket!

da-da!

but I mut have doubted myself I guess. if I'd kept the camera going it would have made a great: "whodunnit!" or is that "howdeedoodat!".

anyway, we'll do some more soon I'm sure

You need to get those videos up on You Tube. Certainly you must have a millennial working for you that can accomplish the task in a matter of minutes.

don't really want too Eric. one day for sure but would like a little Facebook following initially. as you know, I have an excellent face for radio.

one day.............

THATS RIGHT !

My perfumed wife is on Facebook not me.

We are mean, ugly, smelly, beer drinking, pissed off dirt bikers and we want to steal ideas from you. We do not do Facebook.

first thing next week, Julia is putting up a set of 5 videos on our Taffmeisters Facebook page.

they are about setting the ignition timing on all 1999-2003 models and we ran the videos as it happened. as each bike presents its own problems this one does too, it's a 2002 FE501e. but doesn't really matter which model it is but it is a 501.

at the beginning we explain about the new white line at the real TDC

we then run it up and find the ignition timing is at 8d BTDC at idle, the ideal is 6d.

we then try two new (retarded) positions and neither change the timing!

we then change the timing back and adjust the idle

the bike then starts and runs sweetly on both the kickstart and the leccy boot in the last.

if it sounds like a nightmare - it is!

so find Taffmeisters on Facebook to see the videos from I hope Tuesday as poor lil Julia will be very busy on Monday.

regards

Taffy
