anyone who has had a DVSK off me in the last year will have found that they have had to settle for a smaller 'installed height' than would have been preferred. I have had some really thin steel shims made at 0.1mm and will gladly send them FOC to anyone who has bought a set off me in that time. just tell me who you are and when you bought them and I'll get them off to you. even if you don't need them now you can have them awaiting a rebuild etc.

will it have any affect on the motor without them, as in will it damage the motor without them in?

are you guys nuts?

i refuse to degrade myself by answering such bollocks....

i need to start a new thread ..... J,M mo God!

if you fart into the airbox at idle you can cause real damage, it'll suck any balls you have left in and any girl knows where you keep your brains......

Surely there is some misinterpretation going on here....
Elsnoro and Sickd you do both have steel washers between your DVS and the alloy head yeah?
What Taffy is offering is some thinner washers to help acheive closer to the ideal "installed height" of the valve springs.
BUTT if you have installed the DVS directly onto the alloy head without the steel washer then your stupidity far outweighs your machanical abilty and you should not be working on your motor. (I think thats what Taffy was implying)

What I cant suss tho is..... J,M mo god. got me beat.

Taffy..... if your still lurking around this thread then.... I should like you to send me some of them thin as washers please.

Strange

Have 3 heads with original double springs 350-400-501 93-98 and non of them had any kind of washers under the springs.
But i know that the people at Husaberg factory who have designed the engine was not so smart as the UHE folks are ;-)

bergbro, yes i do have a stainless washer between head and the spring, when i got my dvsk kit it came with instructions, and in instruction it said use the spacer in kit to get correct height, i got no washers with my kit, i asked taffy when i put them in do i need any extra washers, he said no....... now he is talking about these things he got made up which then got me confused , but from now on i might just not ask for ****** help on here...

soo now will someone answer my question?

will it hurt the engine not having the spacers you got made up in my engine instead of the standard ones i got in it now?

Hello everyone.
I have been searching for a while now and not got definitive answer.

I Have installed Taffy's dvsk kits to 2 -06 FS650 bergs. Both kits came with just the "0,1mm" shim plates. What I had there previously were a lot thicker(Referred as spring retainers (3) in service manual).

Both bikes shredded the shims. Discovered this in next oil change after just 1-2 hours. Decent size flakes that looked like stainless steel and are not magnetic... What are the taffy's shims made of? The shims are gone, but maby this is coming from somewhere else...

Should I have used the thinner ones under the originals?!?

If there is too much packing under springs, the springs get too much compressed and break, valves dont like hitting seats too hard eather?
Too little and valves hit piston?

How can i measure that the valves are opening right amount? I am worried did the springs machine stuff away from cylinder head making springs sit lower? (aluminium casting cant take pressure)

TooLongDidn'tRead: -06 FS650 everything is original.
Can I use original washers under DVSK kit springs instead of provided extremely thin ones, Or do I use them both?

At least he went in a round a bout way of calling you an idiot and not directly. He does not get it that some users do not know everything about these engines and when asking for help they really need it. Thus the reason to shop elsewhere.

I just used the thin washers under mine ....worked fine. I think with the original spacers they will be too high.
