How do you remove the link from the swingarm?

I removed the nut and bolt (that goes through the swingarm) but the bearing spacer seems to be pressed in and appears to extend through the link into the other side of the swingarm.

You can see the bearing spacer slightly protruding out.

Same problem as in this thread: http://www.husaberg.org/index.php?name= ... ic&p=91978

Well per member FC501 East the link will come out if pryed with a bit of force. The piece protruding out is apparantly part of the swingarm and not the bearing spacer.

I have already cleaned and regreased all the other swingarm bearings and buttoned it up.

The link will have to be done next time.

Thanks for the all the help as usual!!!!

A PIA but with some percussive persuasion and leverage it will come out. Gets easier each time.

Correct that the bit you see protruding is not the sleeve inside the bearing - it is a spacer that butts up against it.

I found that driving a wedge (a thin cold chisel) in beween the the link & swingarm (the dark smile on the bottom photo) worked OK.

I slipped a razor blade between the link and both sides of the swing arm and hit what I think was the sleeve which caused me to believe the sleeve goes through the swing arm and the link.

I did use a pry bar with a bit of pressure but thoughts of damaging the swing arm stopped me.

Next time I think a piece of wood cut into a wedge and a big hammer might alleviate my fears of damaging the swing arm.

I wonder if the sleeve was cooled at the factory before installation like the engine bearings? Heating the swing arm might help.

It would be easy to get out if they had put a hole right through the other side of the swingarm! The little sleeve through the swingarm on mine is a snug fit but not so tigh that it wouldn't move. Once it kicks out a few thou the link comes out easy.

What happens if you belt the link sideways on the end with a lumb of wood so it cocks sideways and shoves the sleeve out a poofteenth? I can't remember specifically trying that with mine but I did bash & kick & swear at it a lot. Maybe that was the one that did the job.
