Swing arm swap?

I have a 99 FE501E looking to find out if the 2000+ models are still Non-linkage suspended.
If they are PDS can you swap a newer swing arm on a 1999 model?

My reasons are to upgrade the chain guide and availability of chain glides for the older 1999 swing arm. The glide is discontinued and I would like to update the chain guide.

Anyone found a cure or swap for this?
The chain guide is also pretty poor. My new to me 501 didn't even have one when I purchased it I am almost ready to weld mounts for a TM design chain guide from another newer bike that parts are still available for.

Suggestions are welcome!

I believe the pds rear suspension is pretty picky about mounting angles and such. You would obviously have to do some decent frame mods to make the shock mount up and to brace your frame. My 09 570 is pds.

should go straight in.

but all the parts are still available?

but then you're an American so it is understandable that you would swop (or is that swap?) SA's just to change the chain guide.

regards

Taffy

Thanks guys!
It is nice to have parts here aplenty ...can get the swingarm with shipping for about $50 US dollars .I hope to also save some "Unsprung" weight with the change.
We have more used parts available here but evidently the brains are elsewhere!
Thanks Taffy!
