Heya Jocke,
wow... this is an awesome track!!! When will the first bikes put some rubber on the tar?
How did you take the photo? Hired a Cessna... (flown by yourself) or are you a skydiver?

Thanx :D At least we hope it will be...
Tarmac shall arrive in august after the holidays. Up to then we have a lot of manual work left, put up a lot of fences, both for spectators and for security of the riders an so on. But I think we will pull it off 8)

The area in the top left corner of the picture is where we plan to expand the track as sone as we have paid for the first part of the track.

The track is located near the local airport in an area where there already is a lot of engine-related activities (gocart, crosscart, MX, enduro, speedway) and also a... errrrrr..... "sailplane" field. Airplanes without engines, don't know what you call them in english. Gliders perhaps.
I just went over to the glider guys and asked them if they would take a few pictures for me and one of the guys replied "hey, get your camera and we'll go up so you can take your one pictures". Had never been up in a glider before so that was absolutely GREAT!

I have also taken some pictures from the ground of how the track looks today. See my gallery for the full sized ones.

Thumbs up

Jocke:

That's a lovely track - what are the dimensions ?
The tar section is very well designed, a true Supermoto layout, rather than a converted kart track.

Best of luck with it.

Cheers,

Brett Saunders

Sorry, bit off topic here....
That aerial view attracted my attention because I'm working for Jeppesen,
the world leader in providing aeronautical information. My department
provides navigational data for the VFR pilots which are mainly piston
engine aircraft and glider pilots. We'll provide aeronautical navigation
charts for Sweden in the near future. So what is the local airport you
talked about Orebro or Laxa?

Thanks Brett :D
The tar section will be somewhere between 450 and 500 meters I think. No one have yet made a serious measurement of it :?
It will be no less than 8 meters wide.
Our "great plan" is to have this part as the twisty part of the track and expand it to the field with some faster turns and longer straights.
The gravel part will have one or maybe two jumps, we are currently arguing about the numbers and also placing of them.
We will build moveable jumps and find out what will be best.

Maddel -> It is Örebro airport. Go to kartor.eniro.se/ and enter "bofors flygplats" in the edit field marked "Adress, ort eller plats". Click "SÖK" and you will find it.
The airport has historically been called "Örebro Bofors airport" from when Bofors sold a lot of arms abroad. We still sell a lot but don't have the money to call the airport our own, haha.
If you look at the map the track is in the top right corner, at "Tredingskullen" (think i described this to you in the past?).
If you click "stor karta" just below the map it will be somewhat enlarged.

Whoa !!! Now thats a dirt section
Jocke are you running a rain front and a slick or grooved slick for the rear
reason why I ask is that our dirt sections over here are short enough we leave on our front slick and don't notch our rears.....
Very cool looking track, I'd love to have one of those in my backyard......
I really like the lack of hard corners out of the dirt section, time to get the dirt off the tires before laying it over
