well, tried all three links. It's not what I meant.
The company I'm looking for supposed to be using 14 Husabergs after trying KTM and Aprillia (!?)
Anyone else have another suggestion?

Thanks,
Adrian

Sorry that i missunderstod you.
This company that you are refering to is My Adventure.
I have been working there as an instructor for 3 years.
We started with 14pc Husaberg FE450-2005, and later KTM 400EXC.
2008 we made a BIG misstake, we got a offer from Aprilia that was 30% below other brands and a promise to have 100% service, In the contract it looked good.
The problem is that due to the bad quality on the Aprilias, the company had to close 1month ago due to the high costs to repair the Aprilias, and also the big amount of problems with the electronics ect ect, they where forced to shut down.
Could not run any course/events due to the bikes didnt last a full day.
It was impossible to work with them and now it seems that MY Adventure are forced in to a law suite to get their money back, Aprilia is refusing warrenty.
At this point its hard to say if My Adventure will ever return to the buisness due to that at the moment they are stuck with 12pc of usless RXV450.
There have been nothing but trouble with them since day one, not even the dealers trained personel can get them to work, and if we get them started they only last for less than an hour.

Hi Thomas, thanks for that info.

Well, it seems that they are back in business, at least according to the head sales of Husaberg.cc According to this person, David Larsson, they bought 14 Husablings.
I am a tour operator myself in sunny Portugal and Aprillia would have never been my choice: 2 cylinders, 2 cyl.heads, 2 timing chains, 8! valves, etc
But OK; that's easy to say 4 me afterwards and not fair. So it's not ment to be mean.
I will give them a call later to talk with them in person.

I would like to start another tread though (but not here, obviuosly):
is the Husabling engine a reliable engine? 2004 - 2008

In my opinion: not really

But they sure do ride like hell
I use a 2005 550 for my guiding, the bike has done so far 35.000kms and had 1 top end overhaul and once the balancer bearing failed. I was very lucky on that occasion because nothing else was damaged.
Overall I'm very pleased with the bike.
With the client bikes; 3x 501, 4x 450, we are so lucky, a lot of different engine problems.

Cheers, Adrian

Strange, i have not heard anything about this new sale, sure not to My Adv as far as i know.

Husaberg relieble? During 2005 and 2006 the same bikes was used and no major problems, much better than the KTM´s in 2007, and by far more than the Aprilias.
I cant see how a Husa 450 can brake when used by not so advanced clients, sure if the fall down alot things get bent but no engine brake down.

Ola Thomas,

Sorry, we have been on a enduro tour for a week.

Perhaps it's the warmer temperatures overhere. Plus the fact that the bikes do fall a lot and there is no pressure oil feed to the camshaft and rockerarms.

When I started my business I had 5 KTMs, all 2003. I never had problems with the rockerarms or timing chain. Mind you, the rockerarms and valves are the same parts in KTM and Husaberg.
Recently I had these gearbox problems, it made me loose confidence in the older Husabergs.
Now, when we disasamble an engine we find that the balance weight came loose on the new type bearing. Just another example of the many things that go wrong.
And we always have problems with worn-out intake valves, Husaberg or KTM.
We use Putoline engine oil, fully synthetic 10W50. Should be OK.

But to end positive, today I ordered the first two 2009 models!! I can't wait to do my first ride.
