Theoretical redline
Many ask what the redline is on a Husaberg and unfortunately we can't give a 100% answer! The way to measure is to measure the piston speed in feet per minute. The formula used is:
S x rpm x 0.166 feet per minute
The rule is reliability but however, a factory source told Gazza that it's "4,500 ft per min".
The general rule is currently 4,50oft per minute and it goes up a little each decade. so if we take our engine and stick to that then you get the following redlines: 60.1mm stroke (400 and 470) = 11,500rpm 80mm stroke (628 engines) = 8,600rpm 82mm stroke (650s from '01 to '04 inclusive) = 8,400rpm 70mm stroke (550s) = 9,900rpm
