Husaberg experts, your my only remaining hope.... :wink:

Does ANYBODY know what material these spoke nipples are made from (from the Husaberg web site);

The dealers seem to differ in opinion...

Can somebody put me out of my misery?? :cry:

Thanks

Crispin

Looks like a black oxide coating to me, primarily used due to it's high protection against salt and water.

well, now you mention it, they could be genuine nipples from the ancient setlement of Matchu Pitchu, lithified over millions of years 200 feet beneath the earths crust, each one having been removen and then had threads cut by hand.

Azza!

I expect they are made from unobtainium. Super expensive and very hard to get hold of.

Is this helping Crispin? It must be reasuring to know that there is such a weath of knowledge out there in the Berg collective.

Next question is for the moderators...where do they put this post...Tech section or the lighter side. :lol:

You did ask Crispin

Crispin's keeping quiet until some one posts a sensible answer I reckon.

How about steel? Did someone say that already?

We use a chemical called Hematite (???spelling) in the furniture industry to give this gun metal finish to steel items. Alternatively could they be hot dipped (tempered) for additional strength - giving a gun metal finish or simply anodized for aesthetics only??
