Hi.

Looking for some advice on what to do with the suspension of my 470 Berg to make it handle better, not interested in doing any MX so looking for a SM solution. Is there anyone in the UK that i can use that does not cost a fortune or what parts do i need to do the job myself.

Springs will prob have to be changed as i am heavier than average, how do i know what the best spring weight.Any help or pointers will be great.

Ta Alan.

Well no one seems to have any advice so I'll see If I can help.....My SM seems to come with stiffer springs suited for serious track riding.....the suspension seems to be lowered approx 25mm to 30 mm as well re valved.......seems to me If you can find out whats inside the forks you can be well on your way.... My rear spring is a 84-250.... seems to work quite well (I'm 255 with full gear)..... hope that helps

HI

And ta for the help, was out for a play this morning with MX wheels on and i now think the problem is from the rear shock.I now have the books in front of me and going through all the settings and problems although it looks like the suspension will have to go off in the winter months to be sorted.I now realise that it is very hard to have a SM / MX all in one.

Been a good boy so will be looking at a 650 after Xmas.

Now ya got it......a SM bike and a MX bike....both Bergs.... 8) I tried to do it with my KX500, it did both tasks but not up to par.....My next bike will be a FE550E...... Bbbbraaaap ! bye bye 2 smoker

Hey Alan,

I just got my Berg suspension done from Kais. They were very helpful, and the cheapest I found too. The boy to contact is Andy White. I got my forks shortened, revalved, new seals and other serviceable items done. The rear shocky serviced, regassed, revalved and resprung (front & rear both done for my weight (96kg with gear on)). The total cost was under £400, the cheapest quote I had was for £450 without servicing them (new seals etc).

Are you planning on Crail on the 37th for a blaw oot?

Big Berg
