Supermoto rims

Hello! I am currently looking for some supermoto rims to put on my Berg.

And I am wondering which rim sizes you are running? I dont want to get a rim that will be rubbing against my chain, as I've seen some bikes that have that problem.

I see you can get front wheels at 17x3.50 or 16.5x3.5, and rear wheels at 17x4.25 or 17x5. I am not sure wich size would be the best fit for a 2008model.

Thank you!

Depends on many factors what chain are you using some 520 chains are wider than others also a worn chain gets more play side to side..
Also how far is the wheel seated in the swingarm completely front/back in the chain adjustment.
What tyre are your running some tyres stick out a lot from the side compared to edge of the rim others are almost even.
And most important how is the rim spoked compared to the hub....
my setup is almost impossible to get the chain against the rim and I use 5 inch wide rim but I use a pretty wide 520 chain and the chain does rub the side of the tyre even with the narrow slick that is on it now but to actualy hit the rim I don't think it could.
The rim is spoked in a way its a bit closer to the brake side than the sprocket.
Some people even use 5.5 wide rims but wih stock swingarm thats a huge PITA to get the rear wheel in/out.
I would like a wider/shorter/stiffer suter swingarm for my sumo but can't justify spending that much money...

17*5 is more interesting imo than 4.25 (more tyre choice/better fit for wider tyres 4.25 is designed for 150 wide tyres...)
The front 16.5 is most used for guys who use the bike for racing/track only but for road use 17 is the way to go much more tyre choice (almost no streetlegal 16.5 tyres out there)

^^ What HusaBelg said. 16.5 gives the bike quicker turn in, but practically useless on the street and potholes are gonna hurt! Best to go 17's all the way around. The 2005 rims (if you're looking for original) have a 5" rear. So long as I'm careful with my chain alignment and have a "thinner" chain, I do not experience tire rub (except the occasional hit on the tire depending on what it is i'm doing). You may also want to install an upper chain guide to block the chain from side to side motion.

Nice for "insurance" but it wont excuse poor chain alignment and could mask it causing premature sprocket wear and chain wear.
