where is a good place to get supermoto wheels here in the states? they are going to start having races here and we are thinking about running it. im not sure, but wouldnt a set of talon hubs be interchangeable from my berg to a KTM?

Hey, for all the info youll need on SM go to www.supermotojunkie.com, very cool site :)

maybe ill see u over there!

as to your queeeeeestion:

Talon hubs are ACTUALLY heavier than stock, and ive heard tons better htings going on with useing the stock hubs and lacing up 17" rims to em (what i have).

id grab a set of the ktm hubs that match your bike...or get the ktm hard parts conversion, thats a DAMN nice price for what they give you!

for wheels, talk to Jeff at East Coast Wheels (pm EastCoastWheels on that forum) or give visit to motostrano (theres a link in the same forum on the right side ;))

that should abouit have you set!

the main this is i have to have another whole complete set. I will look into the KTM hard parts stuff.

it looks like the KTM hard parts wheels are the way to go. we arent going to be super serious about this. what bike do you think would be better, my FC550 or an 04 525 SX? the 525 has a bigger axle on the front so im not sure if you have to have completly different hubs to swap wheels or not.

there is going to be a 4 race series here and there really arent any other SM guys around here so we want to have a local presence. in fact weve already had a couple guys that are coming up from Cali that want to use our dyno to get there bikes tuned.

If you are going down the supermoto route then a cush drive may just save you some transmission damage.
Berg is able to lay down a lot of power through a direct drive, but on tarmac there is a lot of traction and this can be transferred straight up the chain and into the transmission :?

instead of a direct to wheel attachment, the sprocket is attached to a plate with inserts, this then fits into its opposite number on the hub, with bits of rubber seperating the metal.
It soaks up a bit of the harsh, transmission ripping energy when you have the absolute grip of tarmac.
I believe they are standard fitment on the SM bikes, but not the FE or others.
