Actually...it's a bullsh*t subject....but now that I have your attention

My 550 doesn't have the inner spring on the side stand nor the small clip up front. I've got the rubber shrouded spring as the only way on retration etc...

Is this going to cause me greif or is it common...obviously it's stretched more than standard....dos anyone else run this set up or do you guys leave it all standrad.

Cheers

I put a garage door sping on mine. You just hook the spring onto the kick stand and lay it over the seat and hook it to the right side foot peg and you're good to go!! Guarantee that your kick stand will not flop around while you're ridiing.

Really?

I've got many thin rubber O-rings .They are 5 or 6 inches in diameter
I just hook em from the loop on the frame to the tab on the stand after
its retracted before the ride
They last a year or so and I got enough for many many years.
If you don't have the loop or tab, make one. 8O

rings cut from a HD rear innertube work excellent, just cut em out and thread em through the loop on the frame like pollo says.

they also make excellent replacement battery box straps once the stocker has perished and fallen off.

Dale, is that the single or double garage door spring?

Single is usually okay for trail work, but, for serious whoop action in Lucerne the savvy racer uses the double spring ;-)

Think i may have been oversprung, luckilly managed to get hold of a Pro Circuit single spring off of ebay! Guess i'll need to back off the rebound damping a tad now too as my old "double" spring was looped over to the swingarm!?
