My berg, which I've owned for about 2-3 months now, is giving me some trouble. It's a 2011 FE 570 (lovely bike, I adore it). I crashed it a couple weeks ago on some trails (for the millionth time), and it fell a pile of rocks from maybe 6 feet. I picked it up and rode it a couple miles to my car and trailered it home. It started up fine and seemed to ride fine, but I was in a fair amount of pain so I don't know that I would have noticed small things.
I ignored it for a week, and maybe it was bitter about that, because the next time I tried to start it there was a very loud sucking air type noise. I did the screwdriver-to-ear thing but wasn't able to precisely say where the noise was coming from. I removed the seat and air filter and here the noise became much louder. On the inside of the throttle body, there is a small port about the width of a pen, and when I place my finger over the port, the noise stops. So what does that port do or connect to? I didn't know, so I took it to a KTM dealer for service. They don't sell Husabergs, but they told me the noise was normal and gave the bike back to me.
But here's the thing: it wasn't making this noise prior to the crash, and now it won't start. I drained the battery trying over and over. Hooked it up to my Battery Tender til it was fully charged again, but again no go.
The orange fuel light, if it helps, blinks on and off when I am trying to start it. I don't know if that is a normal Husa process. It did make me add a couple liters of fuel to top it up, and didn't make a difference.
The nearest Husaberg dealer is a few hours away from me. Anything obvious I could check for before I go that route?
