stuttering problem - morse code

I've got a problem with the bike, I'm thinking that I need a throttle damper of some kind?

about a month ago I put a new throttle tube and cables on for the first time in 10 years. I have one of those throttle cams for the softest delivery and then found a throttle tube for $10 that did the same thing!

it only haPPENS ON AN EVEN THROTTLE. but every time I've ridden since the bike is juddering out a morse code through the very lowest engine revs? as i hit even the smallest bumps the engine picks up revs and then goes back, it is just like morse code.

I've spent years developing this jetting and now I have to 'guess that tune' depending on the terrain.

only last week I was ridning in Wales near Dolgellau and I could swear that the bike was playing Vinagaroo by T-rex?

only the week before I thought I could detect 'Low' by coldplay!

I could put up with the stuttering engine but I'm stuck with the bloody tune for the rest of the day!

someone had to help me off the machine on Sunday afternoon as I mumbled out 'mumma ooh a oooh! didn't mean to make you cry!'

can you see the dilemma!

any help about the type of tracks/music I need to focus on would be gratefully received.

you know

grass, 60s acid
sand, beach boys, surf etc
rock - rock n roll (what else! you fools!)
rivers - handel?

you can see my dilemma! :D:D:D

no it isn't an air leak, it is my hand...I can't keep it still!

the old cables must have had a bit of friction in them and stopped the stutter.

suddenly I can hear ch-ch-ch-ch-changes coming on........ by David Bowie!

I have the same problem from time to time when i have not released the excess air from the forks.... hit a small bump and it is transmitted through the bars initiating a small blip on the throttle. Took me a little while to figure this out. Some people i ride with sed my cable is too tight... but i hate slop in my throtle and is only an issue if I dont release the air. just a thort.
As for the tune in my head.... you really dont wont to go there.

hey bergbro, you may have something there! it is on my special and I hadn't thought about the suspension doing it!

I have backed the valving off but perhaps a more studied look will help.

as for slack in the throttle, well, I would be riding along on tickover if that weere true wouldn't I and as any green laner will tell you: it is a "whiff" of throttle to stop stuttering and stalling.

really annoying but it is food for thought - well done and I'm going to give out another 'thanks'! my second (WOW!)

Hi Taffy,

It's not parkinson?:D
What Bergbro says is o.k. what i do in addition is to compress the fork and than bleed the air,so if the suspension warms up ridden hard, you don't have to bleed soon during a race, nice side effect it reduces armpump:)
