Hi All
i'm sure this has been covered before but can't find a thread, looking to set the timing on my 02 fs650e with a standard strobe light and wondered if one of you guys could tell me how many degrees advanced the line i should be marking to set this up and what revs this should be done at, tickover or higher?
staor has no marks on nso can't do the static setup as suggested in manual, its set in the middle of adjustment slots at the moment but just want to check.
Thanks in advance p/bob :)

cheers FC501EAST i'll have another look a tthe link once the beer wears off and see how i go :)

had a play with hthe stobe today, set the timing at about 10degrees at tickover, this seemed to then line up with about 38 degrees at 6000 rpm.
Hard to tell if this is an improvement as now neede to sort carb out, has anyone used Euro carb for Dellorto spares? Trevor Pope (my local dealer) are useless and Dave Clarke wasn't very helpfull either.

Plumbbob, when you did the timing did you check the accuracy of the TDC mark?, a number of people have found it to out, the same distance as the two marks on the flywheel about 6 to 7 degrees.

Sparks.

i use them all the time and have had plenty off them this week. they are also useless bordering on funny.

the young lad said that dell orto won't tell them something and i just said "well that's phucking pathetic because you were saying that in 1981, the fact is you don't care" that shut him up.

FW!!!!

if you wnat to buy it of someone who will help you then call me.

Taffy

Hi sparks, checked the TDC and surprisingly it lined up with the factory marks, must have been a rogue one that snuck out when no-one was looking!

then you didn't do it right bob. i did three this week and they were all wrong to exactly the same point.

sorry mate, you are wrong.

Taffy

Unless Husaberg have never stamped a flywheel correctly i'm sure i did it right.

but that's the whole point bob!!!! it's stamped wrong!

wherever you find i've written about it i've explained that the marks are wrong, that's why we ask you to make a new mark on the flywheel.

thats right. i discovered it about 6 years ago. i thought i was unlucky and sat on it (didn't say much) about it for over a year and then i checked someone elses and then someone elses. nobody on the site would check there's and then a couple did and we then knew that it was every single one.

Taffy

I'll have another tinker once i've got the jetting sorted, at the moment its running better than ever!

Hi Bob

I've used Eurocarb for Dellorto bits, they had what I wanted, I got them in less than a week and I'm over here in Oz.
You being over there in the Motherland should have no worries.

BTW - Taffy's right. Berg puts marks on the flywheel but they don't line up with anything. Mark another line at the same spacing as the original 2 lines to the right of the right line.

Coops
