Stripped clutch cover bolt hole

I have a stripped hole for one of the m6 screws on my clutch cover. It is the one just in front of the oil sight gauge. I can tap it out 1/4 20 but I really don't know how well it will hold. The m6 helicoil uses a 6.2 mm drill bit. Has anyone repaired one of these.

Also, it is the hole with the indexing sleeve in it.

Thanks

you'll need to drill the location dowel. helicoils work well. remember that you need a longer bolt here.

another thing...... get a pick, go to the very bottom of the hole, keep yer thumb on the side and touching the crankcase. remove, measure, THAT is the length of screw it will take.

sometimes there are 4-5 threads left at the bottom.

Helicoils worked out great. I ended up fixing the other hole with the locating dowel as the thread was pretty worn. Easy peasy... First time using helicoils.
Thanks
