Street Legal in WA State?

Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on how to make a FE street legal for Washington State? I'm looking at several bikes right now and I'd like to stay with a berg but I'd like to have a plate on it so I can ride all the areas!!! The KTM and Husky come street legal. Is this more reasonable of an option??

I've done some research and it seems that even if I put all the lights and horns etc on they can still reject the inspection of the bike (the DOT of course).

Any Ideas Guys. I know there are a few Washington/Oregon guys around the site.

Is it easier to take a SM and make it work for the dirt (are SM's even street legal?)

Looking forward to what there is to know.

Thanks

i live in spokane, andi have a plate on my fe. it has brake/taillight, headlight w hi/lo, horn, and fold down acerbis mirror. thats it. when i bought it it was already licensed. never had a problem relicensing it, with the execption of the "what the heck is a husaberg?" type comments. i have never been pulled over on it, so not sure if the non d.o.t tires, or no blinkers would be a problem or not. word from some bmw buddies is that in wa. turn signals are only required if the bike came with them from the factory. my fe did not. you might try here: http://www.dmv.org/wa-washington/motorcycle-manual.php . hope that helps.

Are you talking about street legal or street licenced? If you just want a license plate, go to the DOL with your title and say you want a plate. They will ask you If you have turn signals and etc. and you will say  and then they will ask you what the ODO reading is and you will say  and they will issue you a plate. Be careful of which DOL you go to Western Auto in Parkland is not the best place to go.
