we were out on a ride , pulled up in th bush , shut engine off ,got off bike, others around , all other engines off, then ... capoof the engine must have fired the spark plug , the headlight flashed on apparantly , then no other strange things all day.
anyone heard of this one ? any ideas?

I have had the engine roll over TDC when I stopped on a hill and the engine braking of the dead engine didn't hold it and it rolled just enough for the ECU to pick up on the crank spinning and it fired the injectors. Didn't light off but the pump lit off. I don't have lights but they would have come on with the way they are wired in.

Thanks
The battery terminals are all tight , just checked them , inc all the start solinoid terminals while i was there ,
the other theory sounds logical too.

Thats what I was thinking as soon as I read the first post. It doesnlt take much fly wheel movement for the power relay to pick up and energize the fuse box. Just blow it off unless it keeps happening.

Just picked up my 2011 fe 570 i had the same thing happen shut the bike off and 10 seconds later the engine sounded like it did half a revolution.I think the engine just rolled over TDC.i didnt notice the headlight come on but i did see the FI light come on when it did this.I dont think its anything to be concerned about. Will be interesting to see how the neww cc forks go compared too my 2010 model. :D

No strange ones after the ride this weekend, and really think it was just that chance of the tdc thing , it still doesnt miss a beat and i could honestly say it is by far the best bike anyone could want except for the rear guard being too small and letting mud down your back and all over the seat on steeper clay downhills.
Husadan,
Ps the forks are awsome, and i didnt notice any diff on my mates 2010 at all
However i didnt realise how smooth and still effective they are with the clickers wound off, rebound and compression, basically no jitter on the bars, saves the arms on the rocky trails and soaks up the bigger bumps and still takes a reasonable bump to use all the travel. Allows me to hold it on longer , No complaints on the forks for me , would like to hear your comments.

Will post a report on the first ride after next weekend just in the process of getting resprung, cant wait :D
One thing i have noticed is the 2011 does not start as easy cold as the 2010.
