Stock Jetting for Sea Level? 2005 FE650E

Hey guys! Looking for the stock jetting specs for my recently acquired FE650E.
It came from a higher altitude and is very hard to start and won't idle.
It could be the pilot is clogged and just needs a good cleaning--which I intend to do--but I would like to know if I have the correct factory jetting once I get in there. Stock exhaust is still in place.

Thanks!

Bruce

Hey Brucifer, the stock jetting on my 2005 650 was horrendously lean when I bought it new. I called Dan at Motoxitica and he sent me the perfect jets to make her run cool and clean. I can't remember what I put in unfortunately but I would recommend you call him especially since he seems to be relatively near you.

does it REALLY say that Pollo? or is that modified jetting you put up there?

Brucifer that 160 is too small and I don't think that Husaberg put that jetting in their bikes. if they did, the 160 IS too small mate.

Yes it does say that for the 650 as well as nearly the same for 2006. Im not sure what is in my 06 650. The previous owner rejetted I believe. It runs good at sea level up to 3500 ft. My riding range. But I would think somewhere around a 165 would be about right.

Okay, pulled the bowl and jets. The pilot was indeed plugged.
Pilot is a 52.
Main is a 175.

Next to the small parts, here's what I scooped out of the bowl.

Hi brucifer,
the magic word for the carburettor settings might be "GREEN"!

According to the manual the 450 and the 550 came with a 182 main jet! To meet emission regulations in certain countries the bikes were jetted pretty lean I guess. Biggest difference is needle position and main jet. You can go bigger on both, a 550-setting (main 182, needle 6th from top) should also work on your bike!
But your carb is Keihin FCR-MX 41? Otherwise the jetting is different of course!

Regards,
EDE

Okay, just removed the needle and it is the stock OBDVT. With the 175 main listed above and sea level, where should I adjust the clip position? When I removed it, it was on the 6th position.

Thanks.

No, I don't buy that, the Yams and Suzukis were just the same. they were as rich as they could get them. the MJs start at about 130-140 and stop at 190-200 and they were all putting in 170-180s.

there nothing lean about them. they were that rich they used an air bleed to stop backfiring on the overrun but told everyone it was all to do with emmisions.

get rid of it brucifer, get my kit. the DVT is a beautiful bottom speed and second gear needle. but it is gutless, completely gutless in 4th, 5th and 6th. for that end you want an OBE * *. the D does one end and the E the other and you can't get both.

regards

Taffy
